Terms of service

Version 1.0, 12 September 2026. Applicable to the use of DomainCheckup, a service by Upstream Consulting bv.

The short version: you only check domains you are responsible for, we measure from the outside without promising completeness, you pay per domain for what you choose, and either party can stop at any time.

1. The service

DomainCheckup examines domain names based on public data and delivers reports, scores and alerts. The free Lite check-up, the Extended report and Ultra monitoring are described on the Plans page. We may change the check list; every report states the version used.

2. Your account

You register with a valid email address and keep your password secret. You are responsible for what happens under your account, including by team members you grant access. One account per person or organisation.

3. Which domains you may add

Only domains you own or manage, or have a legitimate interest in, for example as a mandated IT partner. Using the service to harm, spy on or overload third parties is prohibited. Active tests run only on domains whose ownership you have confirmed.

4. What a report is and is not

A report is a snapshot of what is measurable from the outside at the time of measurement. It is not an audit, not a penetration test and no guarantee that your domain is secure. Some data is not measurable and is shown as such. Decisions you take based on a report remain your responsibility.

5. Prices and payment

Prices are listed per domain and exclude VAT. One-off reports are paid in advance. Monitoring is invoiced monthly or yearly, at your choice, and runs until you stop it per domain; a started month or year is not refunded. Volume tiers apply per customer, across all domains. We may change prices with thirty days' notice; for ongoing monitoring the new price applies from the next month, or from the next yearly period when paid yearly.

6. Availability

The service runs from several European countries and several networks, in a fully redundant setup. We do our best to keep it available but do not promise uninterrupted operation. Maintenance is announced in advance where possible. An alert is an aid, not a replacement for your own oversight.

7. Liability

We are liable only for damage that is demonstrably and directly caused by a failure in our service. That liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event for the domain concerned. We are not liable for indirect damage, lost profit or decisions you take based on a report.

A report reflects what was visible from the outside at the time of measurement. A finding that turns out incomplete or later proves incorrect, for example because a public source supplied wrong or incomplete data, because the situation changed in the meantime or because something is not measurable from the outside, is not a failure and gives no right to compensation. Nothing limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

8. Termination

You may end your account at any time. Whatever refers to you is then removed or anonymised, as described in the privacy policy, except for what we are legally required to keep, such as invoices and the data belonging to them. We may suspend or close an account for abuse, non-payment or breach of section 3, after a warning where reasonable.

9. Data

See the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms. For the data you enter about others, such as team members and domain owners, the data processing agreement applies, also an annex to these terms.

10. Governing law

Belgian law. Disputes go to the courts of the district where Upstream Consulting bv has its seat, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules.
